I was pretty sure that Walt burned the boat. He just didn't seem excited about going to NY. And we know how he makes things happen.
As far as Hurley goes, when Jin went to that guys house to give the "message". Hurly was on the TV that the girl was watching. Some kind of news program, showed him getting into a car.
Damn !! I missed that. I really want to know Hurley's back story.
